bush just named Harriet Miers, a woman with NO experience on the bench, as his supreme court nominee.
clearly a political appointment, i cant help but say FUCK(!)

At least roberts had entry level experiance.

People really need to start raising hell about these sorts of things. An insurrection would be nice.

Actually, Chief Justice Earl Warren had never been a judge in his life when he was appointed by Eisenhower and he became the most progressive force in the history of American politics. The fact that the extreme right is pissed off by the pick makes me think it's a good one.

maybe.

just after the last guy....putting someone with 2 years of experience in charge of the court makes me skeptical.

I am slightly concerned with Roberts' appointment (particularly as Chief Justice), but it couldn't possibly be worse than making Scalia the C.J. Also, appointments have a history of turning away from their ideology in the face of law, assuming they're quality judges to begin with. At the risk of pointing to Earl Warren one time too many, Warren was a fascist when he was Attorney General and Governor of California, only to turn around and give myriad rights to the accused while on the Court. We can always hope...

its not that ladies can't think, it's just that voting makes their heads explode.

Also, there's always the chance they'll menstruate all over some crucial Supreme Court decision.
